Bruce Paine's 2024 album, '…still we sang', features premier recordings of original solo classical guitar compositions. Inspired by personal experiences, Paine's music explores themes of nostalgia, urban birdsong, dreamscapes, and Auckland's west coast beauty. Each piece reflects Paine's improvisation and meticulous craftsmanship. The album is complemented by Frances Paine's artwork, creating a visual journey that pays tribute to her memory. Although physical copies of this 1998 album are long sold out, Second Recital for Guitar remains available to stream via Spotify and other digital platforms.
Produced shortly after Bruce Paine’s first northern hemisphere recital tour, the album features repertoire performed during those concerts, including Derek Hasted’s Celebration Suite, José Luis Merlin’s Suite del Recuerdo, and Three Russian Waltzes by Stepan Rak.
