Through Familiar Eyes is a special exhibition of paintings by Bruce Paine, to be held at the historic Alberton house this October. The works on display explore a range of subjects – from familiar local scenes and everyday objects to more whimsical and quirky ideas – offering visitors a unique glimpse into Bruce’s artistic perspective.
Each year, Bruce likes to challenge himself with a project that’s a little different. For many years, his focus has been on music and classical guitar concerts, but this year the challenge has taken a new form: a public exhibition of his artwork. It’s both exciting and slightly daunting to step outside his usual comfort zone, and he looks forward to sharing these paintings with the local community.
Special Closing Event – Sunday 26 October, 2 pm. To mark the final day of the exhibition, Bruce will present a short classical guitar concert in the Alberton ballroom. The 30–40 minute programme will feature a selection of classical guitar favourites alongside a couple of Bruce’s own compositions, creating a fitting conclusion to the exhibition.
